THE HIDDEN SECRET

Chapter 1

The Introduction

Hello, my name is Stacy Funmore. I am a woman of 28 years old. I live by myself in a small home I bought three years ago when I moved here from New York. The town I live in now is called lakeshore. It is a small town in Florida.

I decided to move here because living in New York was getting too hard for me. You see, like many people, I have a secret, but my secret came out, and I had no other choice but to find a new home, a place where no one knows me.

Do I regret leaving New York? Yes and no, I did love the nightlife, but what I didn’t like was my family getting in my business telling me how to run my life. I am sure that many of you know exactly what I am talking about. I now see myself with much more freedom to live my life the way I wish to.

By now, you may be asking yourself what my secret is, and I hope you understand that for now, I am going to keep it to myself. I will let you know when the time is right.

Chapter 2 New Home It was a rainy Saturday morning when I arrived at the lakeshore. Right away, I fell in love with the town. All the homes were built in the same style, which was something that I just thought, was adorable. I arrived at the house that I was renting. It had a white wooden fence, and the house was painted in beige. The house didn’t look that big, but it was plenty for me. I stopped at the gate, got out of my car and opened the door. I got back inside my car and drive-in. I drove over to the house and parked in the driveway. Got out of the car and walked back to close the gate. I walked back to the house, and I saw that there was an elevator on the front door. I grab it and open it. There were three keys inside and a letter. The letter was written by Mrs. Richeson, the lady that is renting me the home. I began to read the letter, and it says. Hello, a welcome. I am so sorry that I couldn’t be here to see you meet in person. But there was something that came up, and I had to take care of it. I will come by later this week so that we could meet. Make yourself a home, and see you soon. I put the letter inside my red victory purse, and then I put the key inside the hole, and I opened the door. I walked inside, and I just loved what I saw. The first thing you saw when you walked in was a fireplace made out of old brick in the living room. Three small steps lead into the family room. The furniture that Mrs. Richeson use was just perfect; it was as if she knew my taste in furniture. The next room that follows the family room was a small dining room and right next to it was the kitchen. All the applicants looked to be in great condition. I wouldn’t go as far as saying that they were new because it was obvious that they were at less a couple of years old. After I did some exploring in the kitchen, I went to look for the master bedroom. The room was much bigger than my old bedroom back in New York. There was a queen-size bed, and there were two-night tables on each side. To my surprise, there was a stand that had a small flat-screen TV. I sat for a moment on top of the bed to feel the mattress, and then I went back to my car to get my stuff. I opened the hood and took out my suitcase. I had only brought one large suitcase; I went back inside the house to start unpacking. One of the things that I liked the most was the land. The home, as I already told you, was not big, but it sat on what was at least 2 acres of land.

After I was done unpacking, I decided to go out and explore the town. I found a small shopping center not too far away, and I pulled in. I found a parking space and parked. I noticed that there were not too many cars in the mall. I right away saw a diner and walked in. I did not have anything to eat for a while.

The place was almost empty; there were just a few tables taken and two old men sitting by the counter. One of them saw me, and he immediately smiled and said hello to me. Even so, the man could have been my dad. I smiled back and said hello to him.

There was a middle-aged man behind the counter and a woman about the same age as him working as the waitress. The lady asked me if I wanted a table or did I want to sit by the counter. I smiled as I replied that I would like a table. She told me to sit anywhere I liked.

I walked over to a table by the door and took a seat. The waitress came
